August 15, 2022–Eighteen secondary teachers in Texas and New Mexico took time to be trained in the teaching methodology used for SystemsGo, the project-based rocketry STEM (Science Technology Engineering Math) curriculum.

In-person and remote instruction was conducted by Rebekah Hyatt, Executive Director; George Burns, Assistant Program Director; and Doug Underwood, Regional Coordinator.

“We look forward to supporting these newly-trained teachers as our SystemsGo program gets back on its path to expansion into more classrooms this year and beyond,” Hyatt said. “More school leaders are recognizing our effectiveness in instilling STEM and workplace skills into students with our innovative approach.”

SystemsGo uses project-based instruction to teach STEM and workplace skills. Students progress from drafting, CAD, and engineering design, to building and launching rockets.

The program is now offered at high schools in four states, with rockets launched from four sites in Texas and New Mexico, plus at White Sands Missile Range.
